Melamine plywood ,Melamine MDF and Melamine Particle board are all suitable products in furniture making, cabinetry, and home decoration. But what exactly is melamine plywood, melamine MDF and melamine Particle board?
In this blog, we’ll differentiate these 3 types of melamine boards and our suggestion for their application.
Melamine plywood is a plywood core with a melamine paper resin coating. Our melamine plywood core is made of good materials: A grade poplar veneer and eucalyptus veneer combination. In order to make good smooth surface, we apply 3 times hot pressing and sanding for the plywood core before melamine paper lamination. Furthermore, we use E0 grade melamine glue to make it health friendly for indoors decoration. Melamine plywood photo as below
Melamine MDF is a MDF core with melamine paper resin coating. MDF means medium density fiberboard, breaking down hardwood or softwood residuals into wood fiber and forming it into panels by applying high temperature and pressure. It is usually grade by different density, like 630,680,730Kgs/CBM etc. The higher density, the stronger. Melamine Photo as below:
Melamine particleboard is a particleboard core with melamine paper resin coating. Particleboard also named as chipboard, flakeboard, particle board. Particleboard is made of small wood particles and forming it by applying high temperature and pressure. It have different grade E0,E1,and E2. E0 grade use the lowest formaldehyde released glue which is best one, and E1 is better than E2. Melamine Particleboard Photo as below:
Now we understand that all three products surface is laminated with same material melamine paper. But the difference is the substate core in the middle. The melamine paper coating makes these three products have a paint free, colorful surface. Furthermore, it is stain resistant, very easy to clean. So they are widely used in furniture industry.
But the melamine plywood has super advantage compared to melamine MDF and melamine particleboard. It is durable, good screw holding performance and moisture/water proof. So we highly recommend to use melamine plywood to make kitchen and bathroom furniture in humid environment. In other area like living room, bedroom, we can use melamine MDF or melamine Particleboard instead to reduce cost.
